Day 0, Saturday, 13 June
It started with a simple thought about pet owners. I wanted a way to connect with people nearby, find cross-breeding partners, discover pet products, build a community. No algorithm. No noise. Just pet owners finding each other.
I posted the idea on X that same night. "Let me cook." Then I started cooking.
Day 1, Sunday, 14 June
I stayed up on the brand. The name came from "Pet" and "Kilobizzy," cleaned up to Petizzy. By morning I had the logo and posted it on X before church. People liked it.
I deployed the first code before leaving for service. On a Sunday morning. That's just how it goes sometimes.
Day 1-2
Here's what most people don't know: I wasn't starting from scratch. I had a Python/FastAPI backend template from last September with auth, profiles, and push notifications already built. That's what made 8 days possible.
I just had to build the React Native UI on top. Fredoka and Nunito Sans for fonts. Bright colors on purpose. Petizzy needed to feel alive.
Day 3-4
Profiles. Pet creation. Feed. Posts. Likes. Comments. Feature by feature, screen by screen. No distractions.
Day 5-6
DMs. Discover with search and filters. Global search across pets, owners, and posts. Bookmarks. Follow system. Pet subscriptions. Real-time notifications with push via Expo and FastAPI.
By Day 6 this wasn't a prototype anymore. It was a product.
Day 7
I shared the Android build on Google Drive with friends. They tested it immediately. Real feedback, real usage. 30,000+ people saw that post on X.
Day 8, Sunday, 21 June
Eight days after the idea, Petizzy went live on Google Play as a closed beta. 183 people liked my post about it. But more importantly, it was true.
